Activities

Our Activity Director at Southern Acres plays a vital role in helping each resident feel socially connected to other residents and staff. The programs scheduled for the residents living at Southern Acres are designed to meet their needs on many levels.  This could include physical, spiritual, mental, social and intellectual.  The activity director keeps our residents hopping with monthly birthday parties, religious services, outings which may include fishing, shopping during out and other fun excursions. Our residents enjoy gardening, quilting, and sewing, many musical and social events, playing games, cooking classes and so much more! Every year Southern Acres residents compete in the Nursing Home Senior Olympics. The residents train hard and are ready to conquer all, when this special time comes around!  Our eye is on the trophy! Volunteers who help with our activities are very special and we appreciate all their hard work and dedication to make our residents’ life more meaningful.  Our residents love socializing, so just stopping by for a visit or reading a book is wonderful.  We love our volunteers and anyone who is interested can contact our activity director for more information.
